Jarvi R.Jarvi R. ★★★★★ Dear Clarendon Animal Care Team,I always want the best for Kobi, and that starts with the exceptional treatment he receives at Clarendon Animal Care. I can’t thank you enough for the care and attention you provide – every single staff member!Dr. Carr is wonderful and attentive, and her dedication to Kobi’s health means the world to us.Thank you very much for everything you do!Emily C.Emily C. ★★★★★ Amazing and kind staff! Such a clean facility and they are always so awesome with my pet. Highly recommend!Jessyka B.Jessyka B. ★★★★★ CAC has been my home vet for almost a decade. They were amazing with my previous dog with severe behavioral challenges, and were extremely compassionate when it came time for end of life care. They continue to be extremely understanding and wonderful with my current dog, always helping her (and me!) through any anxieties or issues that come up. I commute to them from DC because I don’t ever want to switch vets!ChristinaChristina ★★★★★ We have been clients for years, driving an hour+ so our fear reactive dog could get the medical care he needed. Everyone, from front desk staff to the vets, are exceptional. We have adopted rescues and fostered dogs for decades. Over that time, we’ve worked with many vets, specialists, and practices. This is our favorite vet practice of all.We delayed a relocation so our dog could continue to be treated by them. He has since passed due to age-related cancer of his spleen. If not for this practice, his reactivity would have prevented us from even getting him vaccinated. They worked with us to develop a plan to treat him, adjusting as needed over the years. We are forever grateful for everyone at both Clarendon Vet locations. This is an amazing place staffed with people passionate about providing excellent care for the animals they treat and their human guardians.Lana A.Lana A. ★★★★★ We love this vet! They such great care of our anxious puppy. Very thoughtfulJessica A.Jessica A. ★★★★★ I have been taking my dog to Clarendon Animal Care North for a few years now and I have had nothing but positive experiences, but more importantly, my dog has had nothing but positive experiences. He is an extra sensitive dog who requires sedated visits and some creative solutions to getting him the care he needs, while also limiting his stress as much as possible. The staff at Clarendon have been extremely gentle, understanding, and patient with finding solutions that work for him, while also giving him great medical care. Without a truly caring Fear Free vet like Clarendon, I don’t know what we would do!Grace MGrace M ★★★★★ CAC is by far the best vet I’ve ever been to! They are communicative, caring, patient, understanding, and flexible. My dog is very difficult at the vet, and they have gone above and beyond to accommodate his needs. I highly recommend them and Dr. Fitzgerel to anyone.Moira E.Moira E. ★★★★★ Great vets, who are knowledgeable and very friendly. Lovely welcoming staff. Great office atmosphere. Easy scheduling. By far the best vets that I have ever taken my cats to.Updated 9 years later! Still bring my two cats here and they are so attentive, thoughtful, and kind. Love this practice even as the vets and staff change over time.Steven H.Steven H. ★★★★★ My boy Maxx had a lot on his plate coming into his appointment with CAC. A few jabs and prods for various vaccines plus other tests and exploration. He’s a bit skittish about this stuff (isn’t everyone???) but Dr Fitzgerel and his crew of Caitlin and Jules were so awesome that day. They were patient and careful with him and took plenty of time to get to know Maxx, and his history and present situation.Casey M.Casey M. ★★★★★ Always there to assist with all my needs with my pug Arthur. Was able to squeeze me in for some questions regarding travel with my dogIsabel C.Isabel C. ★★★★★ Dr. McCrory is the best!!!Cerys E.Cerys E. ★★★★★ The team at both Clarendon Animal Care north and south have been SO incredible in caring for our two cats over the past 2 years. One of them in particular has had a lot of health issues this year, going to numerous appointments at both locations as well as dental extractions at the North location. The office itself has an extremely calming atmosphere and really takes pet comfort into consideration. Dr. McCrory has been so diligent in every single appointment and made us feel so comfortable and apart of the medical decision making process. He is so good with our cats and they love coming to see him. Our toothless cat is thriving now, and it’s really due to Dr. McCrory, the vet technicians, and everyone else on the incredible team who has treated him. Thank you so much♥️ We HIGHLY recommend this office, your pets will be in such good hands!Brian S.Brian S. ★★★★★ High quality service for an affordable price. I highly recommend them for cats as they are very patient and gentle.John NJohn N ★★★★★ We had a complex situation related to moving our dog to Japan. Clarendon Animal Care was super knowledgable, supportive, and helpful, removing a ton of stress from our lives.Jonathan D.Jonathan D. ★★★★★ Clarendon Animal Care was recommended to us and we highly recommend them! They are been great taking care of my best fury friend!Kali U.Kali U. ★★★★★ I have been taking my dog to Clarendon Animal Care North since 2021, and have always had wonderful experiences with all of their staff. I have been to a few different veterinary offices with my anxious dog claiming to be fear-free, but no other office has utilized fear-free practices as clearly as CAC North. Dr. Dana Carr especially has always been so patient with my dog, walking in backwards and getting down on the floor with her to make her more comfortable. She also must take really great notes or have a brilliant memory, because I feel like she always remembers everything so clearly about my dog without me having to remind her. I actually moved away from Arlington in 2023, but continue to make a longer drive to CAC North because I trust CAC North and am so comfortable with them. I could not recommend them, and Dr. Carr, more!Bhavishya V.Bhavishya V. ★★★★★ CAC North has been amazing with our two cats both of whom are usually fearful of the vet. They have ensured that the cats have the smoothest visit and their fear free care is what we will keep coming back for!Jennifer H.Jennifer H. ★★★★★ Everyone is so kind at Clarendon Animal Hospital. They really care about your pet. Dr. McCrory is the best!!Carson H.Carson H. ★★★★★ The staff at Clarendon Animal Care have been kind, compassionate, and knowledgeable caregivers for our family of cats and dog for over 10 years.Kathryn C.Kathryn C. ★★★★★ We bopped back and forth between the North and South offices because we liked working with our vet so much. We, unfortunately, are very familiar with needing last minute appointments and using their partner urgent care facility. All experiences were incredible, especially given that both our dogs were reactive.Kelly N.Kelly N. ★★★★★ Our dog, Karlee, was a patient of Dr. McCrory. Throughout her life, she received compassionate, knowledgeable care at Clarendon Animal Care, starting from when we rescued her all the way through when she crossed the rainbow bridge a few weeks ago. Dr. McCrory explained her options to us in a way that empowered us to give her the best life.Riley T.Riley T. ★★★★★ The staff at CAC north are the best! So kind, patient, and do everything they can to make both pets and parents feel comfortable 🙂KevinKevin ★★★★★ Nothing but great things to say about this location. The staff is all extremely friendly and our dog loves seeing them! We have Dr. McCrory and he is fantasticAnna R.Anna R. ★★★★★ Clarendon Animal Care is amazing. The CAC North staff was incredibly thorough, loving, and professional as they worked to find the answer to my dog’s ailments and then again as we made the decision to say goodbye to our pet. I couldn’t have asked for a more loving, gentle staff to support us during such a hard time and even afterwards as we navigate grief.Alexandra D.Alexandra D. ★★★★★ Phenomenal veterinary office. Switching to CAC was one of the best decisions we made for our aging pup (and our wallets!). Incredibly compassionate care, and very straightforward with pricing. Hands down the best vet in Arlington.Tracy P.Tracy P. ★★★★★ CAC has been our go-to clinic since 2021, and their professionalism and consideration for our questions is most appreciated.Sarah R.Sarah R. ★★★★★ Dr Tanner and the staff at Clarendon Animal Care make it easy for me, and more importantly, my dog Ember, to choose this veterinary team to care for her. Dr Tanner has taken the time to get to know us and we trust her and the CAC team implicitlyJennifer M.Jennifer M. ★★★★★ I love the staff at Clarendon — they always take wonderful care of my pups, and are always great about explaining everything in detail and following up.Rebecca P.Rebecca P. ★★★★★ Love this place for reactive/anxious dogs!Darnell B.Darnell B. ★★★★★ Clarendon Animal Care is the the most professional and proficient veterinarian clinic I’ve experienced. They are the benchmark in the DMV for pet care and treatment.Margaretta R.Margaretta R. ★★★★★ The team at Clarendon is incredible! They are wonderful with my extremely anxious dog and are supportive and encouraging in my continuing efforts to learn how to give my dog her “best life.” My dog is loving and sweet at home yet can be a complete jerk elsewhere. The Clarendon team offers great advice without judgment – so rare, so appreciated!Catherine Jane O.Catherine Jane O. ★★★★★ Alice was so sweet and lovely with my Violet. So appreciative of the warmth and kindness!Hayley T.Hayley T. ★★★★★ We were very fortunate to find CAC South when we adopted our first extremely anxious rescued doggo eight years ago. The benefits of No Fear veterinary care for nervous and traumatized animals cannot be overstated. Lina and Dr. Taylor always take time to help our girls settle down and see them as friends and take very creative steps to minimize the invasiveness of exams, all while providing the most dedicated quality of care I’ve ever experienced with veterinary professionals. I can’t imagine being a dog mom without them and CAC South.Tracey F.Tracey F. ★★★★★ I will never let anyone else treat my 2 dogs. I’ve been going here for 4 years and never had a bad experience. Words can’t describe how happy I am with both locations. Just all around the best.Allison E.Allison E. ★★★★★ Great vets, top notch staff. They always make time for my questions and make me feel like I have all the information I need to make choices about my animals’ care.Emily Reid C.Emily Reid C. ★★★★★ We switched from Cherrydale Vet to Clarendon Animal Care North last year, and we have been extremely happy with them. Cherrydale was more convenient for us, but we found it to be smaller and less comfortable overall (while prices were actually higher). CAC has offered a much better experience so far.Their entry is warm and inviting, and has plenty of room for owners and their pets to make their way inside on their own terms as much as possible. They have a separate entrance for pets who are particularly anxious and/or otherwise in need of solo entry into the facility to ensure their comfort and security and make sure they have as fear free a visit as possible. They also have a separate waiting area for cats for the same “fear free” reason. The people at the front desk are all extremely welcoming and smile at all who enter. The entire experience is warm and inviting for pets and people alike. The waiting areas and exam rooms are also wonderfully clean, cheerful and comfortable for all. They have carpet on the floor and a couch in every room so all have a place to sit during visits. Soft classical music plays in the background, and the walls are tastefully decorated with artwork and unobtrusive signage containing helpful information about their practice and basic veterinary content. They accomplish their “fear free” goals very well. Most importantly, the veterinarians there are awesome. They’re great with both pets and people, and they take time to conduct thorough and caring exams and provide detailed information about what they’re doing the whole time. They also answer all questions clearly and explain everything incredibly well, without ever appearing condescending or impatient in any way (as we have experienced with some vets at various places in the past). My dog and I leave feeling great and well taken care of every time. Excellent veterinary practice in every way.Cindy S.Cindy S. ★★★★★ Best animal clinic ever from front desk to techs and vets. Very client focussed. Vets are extremely knowledgable with real depth of experience.Tricia L.Tricia L. ★★★★★ This is truly a fear free practice. Every staff member gently greeted my dog and gave him time to warm up to them prior to treatment. Fear free is not just about giving treats, it is slowing down enough to let a dog relax and meeting him at his level. After being labeled “vicious” at two vets, my dog now leaps out of the car and runs into this office. He loves everything about it the visits from the rug, the music, the smell, the treats, and especially the people. He also rushes into his muzzle prior to vaccinations thanks to a lot of classical conditioning with our trainer at Treats and Triumphs.Betty O.Betty O. ★★★★★ My pug snorts with joy every time we pull up to Clarendon Animal Care. He will run to the front door, which is notable for a dog that prefers minimal exercise. :)The vets here are amazing, we have seen many of them over the years. They are thorough, caring, and incredibly patient. They will even sit on the floor with your pup.. something I have never seen done at any other vet. They take time to explain their treatment plan and offer alternatives. I have never felt rushed. We have been here for wellness visits, minor urgencies, and dental care under anesthesia. The office staff has always been friendly, helpful and accommodating when you call them. The technicians are gentle and skilled. Just a really great place for your dog!Carey G.Carey G. ★★★★★ I absolutely love Clarendon Animal Care. I have been seeing Dr Kayleen Gloor for many, many years. She is smart, compassionate, and honest. I trust her with my fur babies and have had some really bad experiences with other vets. All the staff at CAC are amazing – they always go out their way to make sure our babies and we are okay. I will especially give a shout out to Lina – my current fur baby is tiny, has the smallest veins ever, high maintenance and needs a LOT of blood drawn regularly. Lina is one of the only techs that is able to get blood from this tiny dog and she does it with LOVE every single time.I completely recognize that CAC is not cheap but they are smart and want the absolute best for your baby. I would absolutely recommend their services.Zoë P.Zoë P. ★★★★★ We use CAC for our 3 cats and have always had a positive experience here. The staff is so kind, attentive, and helpful. The doctors are all very knowledgable, understanding, and give concise answers to our questions and instructions on care. As well as being our primary vet, they have helped with urgent care for our cats, or directed us to an emergency vet nearby. Highly recommend as your primary vet!Jessica Z.Jessica Z. ★★★★★ Great, loving care for all fury creatures. So attentive, so personalized. Highly recommend.Ana R D.Ana R D. ★★★★★ Dr. Gloor and the team at Clarendon Animal Care took exceptional care of my prior dogs and now my newly adopted dog Boots. I initially went to another clinic near me however nothing beats Clarendon care, attention to detail, but most importantly their knowledge. I could see the difference in Boots behavior as well. That let me know everything.Bryce K.Bryce K. ★★★★★ Hands down the best vet practice I have ever been to. I have an anxious little guy, and this practice caters to his needs to make sure that he has a great experience. They are always available to answer questions, take their time during appointments, and go above and beyond. I am also an FSO and they have a PCS coordinator for pets – how cool (and extremely helpful)!Liz F.Liz F. ★★★★★ Amazing. Great with my dog, excellent medical care, also great front office staff. 10/10…maybe 11/10. For context just moved here from CA, and had to find a new vet fast, and checked out 3 other locations. This was the best on all counts.Julie L.Julie L. ★★★★★ The staff at Clarendon Animal Care are always so kind and attentive. They take the time to discuss everything they are doing and provide care recommendations, and you never feel like they are rushing you out. I know my cat is always getting the best care. Dr. Gottlieb is the best!Cristina S.Cristina S. ★★★★★ I am SO grateful for the outstanding care my cats recieve at CAC. They are patient and gentle with the pets, even if they’re super nervous. It is so nice to feel like you have as MUCH time as you need to have your concerns addressed. Props to the vets, assistants, and front desk staff. Everyone is so kind.Janele K.Janele K. ★★★★★ This is my favorite primary care vet I’ve had for my cats. The entire staff is very welcoming and caring, it shows extra through their treatment plans and thorough visits. My older cat has had a series of health issues this year, and he’s never happy to be at the vet but I’ve never seen him calmer in a medical setting. They always have time for all my questions (sometimes there are a lot) and even follow up to ensure my cats are doing well after their visits. Couldn’t recommend a vet more! Shoutout to Dr McCrory, he’s the best.H DH D ★★★★★ This is an excellent vet. I highly recommend them. Tanner in their international pet certificate office is so helpful and patient. He values you and answers all of your questions. If I could give this business a higher rating I would. They understand pets are family and they mitigate any concerns you have. Do not hesitate to use their care.Clay W.Clay W. ★★★★★ CAC is terrific. They’re always friendly, reliable, and most importantly, care for Koko as if she were their own! Specifically, I am impressed with their responsiveness via email to sporadic questions I have, and they and Dr. McCrory are always detailed and thorough in their analysis of my dog. I highly recommend them to care for your loved pets.Huri F.Huri F. ★★★★★ Excellent service – professional, competent, patient friendly! Thank you for a job well done!David R.David R. ★★★★★ Dr. McCroy and all the staff at CAC are absolutely wonderful. They go above and beyond to try and make the visit as stress free and positive as possible. As the owner of 2 dogs who have extreme anxiety at the vet, I greatly appreciate this. It probably alleviates as much anxiety for me as it does the pups. Last year we discovered my 9 year old husky tore her ACL and had developed quite a bit of arthritis. One of the options was surgery but Dr. McCroy took more than just her physical health into consideration and was honest in saying he felt given the amount of necessary follow up post-op, it was possible the damage to her psyche would outweigh the risks of not operating. This to me showed a genuine consideration of the dogs overall health. They could’ve encouraged me to have them operate just to get more money out of me; money I was willing and ready to pay, but they didn’t. That level of integrity is hard to come by these days.Paul P.Paul P. ★★★★★ I would not take my pet anywhere elseMorgan D.Morgan D. ★★★★★ CAC is the best. We have a cat who is FelV+ with feline asthma so we made many visits to CAC. We mostly saw Dr. Valentine, and I always felt she really listened to what I was saying and took time to explain the diagnosis and treatment. We unfortunately relocated and can no longer bring our cat to CAC but I have nothing but good things to say about our experience there.Chrissy C.Chrissy C. ★★★★★ Dr. Kerry Skorup and the associates here are wonderful. My male has terrible anxiety and has had his days being in pain with allergy flair ups, but as soon as I ask if he wants to see Dr. Kerry (he is well aware of people by name) he runs to the door and gets impatient if I take too long. The team has collectively adapted to his needs, have done everything they can to narrow down his reason for flair ups and is always so pleasant. My male is not generally good with strangers, but has taken a liking to others here. He has his hesitations, but I feel comfortable knowing he will be okay with any of the ladies that come in the room. He doesn’t just go up to anyone, but is very different here. This is a great place to go for those that need that extra love and attention like my boy does. He naturally gravitates towards more females, loves praises and gets to know people by name. Their compassion is very evident in their actions and the time they spend with you. This place has been one of the best veterinary offices I have been to with him.Joseph M.Joseph M. ★★★★★ For international pet certificates, this place is awesome!Marisa P.Marisa P. ★★★★★ Clarendon North did a great job with my dog Leo. Clean bill of health from parasites. We are changing up his stress meds.Antonio C.Antonio C. ★★★★★ My pup loves going to Clarendon! I love there no stress approach, and they’ve really helpful in helping me move with Chase overseas.John D.John D. ★★★★★ They’ve been great. My pup loves going to Clarendon!Cindy M.Cindy M. ★★★★★ We just had our first visit to Clarendon Animal Care with our two new Yorkie pups, and the experience was wonderful! From the moment we walked in, the entire team made us feel welcome, and our puppies’ names were even on the greeting board. We chose Dr. Gloor again because she cared for our last dog, and she is every bit as amazing as we remember. She is incredibly knowledgeable, takes time to answer every question, and thoughtfully explains each recommendation. Watching her administer our pups’ vaccinations was a masterclass; they barely noticed the needles. The clinic itself is spotless and well-organized. Every staff member we met was warm, attentive, and genuinely excited to greet Beastie and Bear. Every detail is carefully designed to create a stress-free experience for pets and their humans. We feel truly fortunate to have such a dedicated and trustworthy veterinary team in our corner. If you need a vet in Arlington, I highly recommend Clarendon Animal Care, especially Dr. Gloor.Ian B.Ian B. ★★★★★ Our cats only vet for a reason. 6 years of excellent care, professional service, and seeing Bam Bam.Brandon R.Brandon R. ★★★★★ Extremely friendly, caring, and professional staff.Ashley B.Ashley B. ★★★★★ I truly don’t have enough words to express my gratitude for the incredible team at Clarendon Animal Care—especially Casey (so sorry if I am misspelling your name), who so kindly and calmly fielded two panicked phone calls from me in the past week. Her empathy, patience, and genuine concern for my pup’s well-being brought me so much comfort during an incredibly stressful time. After Kliffy underwent a procedure at another area hospital and I was met with dismissiveness and rudeness when I raised post-op concerns, Clarendon was my first call—and thank goodness. Even though I was an emotional mess, they handled everything with grace and urgency, and coordinated with Urgent Animal Care of Arlington so Kliffy could be seen immediately. That decision truly made all the difference in his recovery.I’ve always known my boys were in the best hands here, but this experience reaffirmed it tenfold. Thank you to everyone who has cared for Kliffy and Kevin over the years—especially Dr. Plough and Dr. Carr—for being the kind of veterinary team that treats pets (and their humans!) like family. You are such a blessing to our community.Tamara D.Tamara D. ★★★★★ My dog always has the best care and it’s easy to schedule an appointment for routine or emergency care.Caroline H.Caroline H. ★★★★★ Love this place. We have been coming for about 10 years (first found them at Clarendon Day) and every time we call, need help, or come in, they are warm, kind, super knowledgable and fast but thorough.HokieJairusHokieJairus ★★★★★ I cannot say enough good things about the team at Clarendon Animal Care. My pug, Tobey, started acting weird on Sunday afternoon and seemed to get worse overnight. My husband and I walked into the office at 0730 on Monday morning very distressed and asked if the team could squeeze him into the rotation. Immediately the receptionists and vet techs jumped into action and started checking his vitals. Dr. Plough came in later in the morning and checked him out and then sat down to brief us on his prognosis. Thankfully we were able to bring Tobey home but the team showed such compassion and professionalism. Words cannot describe how much their care meant to us in that moment of distress. Thank you all!Michael C.Michael C. ★★★★★ Truly compassionate veterinary practice.Sabrina V.Sabrina V. ★★★★★ We used Clarendon Animal Care to help us prepare an international health certificate for our dog’s travel. There was excellent communication prior to our appointment to help us be properly prepared for our visit. They provided useful guidance and made sure the process was smooth for us. Best of all, the veterinarian and her assistant were kind and patient with our cranky pup during her exam. We would highly recommend their services!Cathy G.Cathy G. ★★★★★ Clarendon Animal Care helps when you need it the most! After a long weekend with my sick dog that involved a disappointing late-night visit to an urgent care facility and then repeated requests over the days that followed to have the vet at the urgent care facility call me because my dog had not shown any improvement, I finally called Clarendon Animal Care, my dog’s regular vet. I didn’t want to bother them at first because this issue started over the weekend when they were closed and it seemed like something I should try to resolve with the urgent care facility, but I’m so glad I called Clarendon Animal Care. I spoke with Dakota today, who listened to the entire saga, advised on how to handle my dog’s illness, and gave practical and helpful guidance on how to help my dog feel better. I’m still waiting for the fecal test results from the urgent care facility (who said it would take 5 days — something Clarendon Animal Care could do in a fraction of the time!), but I am going to start that over with Clarendon Animal Care. Who wants to wait 5 days when their dog is sick?! Thank you, Clarendon Animal Care — and thank you to Dakota for being so kind and helpful today!Kayla A.Kayla A. ★★★★☆ I’ve only had great experiences with the staff! They are friendly and care for our dog. They are a great primary vet care. It can be a bit overpriced for meds and other services.js_loader

“Just wow. We had an emergency with one of our kittens and called four places and the emergency vet and none could take us.
Clarendon Animal Care was so empathetic and agreed to take us at the end of the day. Every staff member-reception, techs, the vet—were so upbeat and friendly.”
