Important Reminder:

Urgent Animal Care of Arlington is now open! While UAC is owned by MVP and our very own Dr. Gloor and Dr. Ungerer, it is not directly affiliated with CAC. It’s important to note that veterinary urgent care hospitals are not a substitute for having a relationship with a primary veterinarian – a primary veterinarian focuses not only on wellness care and management of chronic conditions but assimilates all of a patient’s history together to provide a comprehensive treatment plan.

From offering treats to acclimating the pet to their carrier to spraying their items with pheromones - there is a list of options to help make your cat more comfortable for their vet visits! Check out this article for a full list!

DVM Blog Post Highlight - Hypertension

In this month’s DVM Blog post, Dr. Gottlieb discusses hypertension, also commonly known as high blood pressure. While many of us have heard about high blood pressure from our aging relatives or maybe even concerns from our doctors for ourselves, it can also affect our pets!

Hypertension occurs when the blood vessels are too small or too inelastic to accommodate the large volume and high pressure of blood flow; and is most often seen as a consequence of an underlying health issue, rather than a primary cause. Take a look at the article for more information on high blood pressure effects, what to do/how to treat, and what high blood pressure can indicate health-wise.
