Lauren Gottlieb Dvm Phd

Lauren Gottlieb, DVM, PhD

Associate Veterinarian / Medical Director of CAC North / CAC Leadership Team

Dr. Gottlieb grew up in the suburbs of Philadelphia, and always had a long-standing love of science and animals. She obtained her B.A. from the University of Rochester, and from there went on to obtain a PhD from the University of California, Irvine in Neurobiology.

While she immensely enjoyed the research and educational aspects of her career, she realized it did not satisfy her drive for local community involvement and individualized care. Upon volunteering at an animal shelter, she fell in love with veterinary medicine.

Dr. Gottlieb went on to earn her veterinary degree from Tufts Veterinary School in Massachusetts, and thereafter completed a one-year internship in small animal medicine and surgery at Friendship Hospital for Animals in Washington, DC.

She is thrilled to be on the talented team at Clarendon Animal Care, and share her professional interests of internal medicine, dermatology, geriatric care, soft tissue surgery, and feline medicine.

Dr. Gottlieb lives with her husband, two boys, and two cats, Lil’ Peanut and Kofi, in Annandale. In her spare time, Dr. Gottlieb enjoys running, hiking, cooking, and attending music concerts.
